This policy covers both the Spark mobile app and the Spark website (sparkbrainapp.com), collectively referred to as "the Service."
1. Information We Collect
a) Account information
- Email address, display name, and authentication credentials when you create an account.
- Name, age range, and gender (optional) if you provide them during the web quiz or onboarding.
- An anonymous guest identifier if you use the mobile app without registering.
b) Activity data
- Mobile app: Game scores, response times, accuracy, streaks, and session history.
- Website: Quiz responses, completion timing, and quiz progress.
c) Device and diagnostics
- Device type, operating system version, browser information, and app version for compatibility, security, and stability.
d) Crash and performance data
- Technical crash reports and performance signals through Firebase Crashlytics (Google) in the mobile app.
e) Usage analytics
- Which screens, pages, and features you use, session patterns, and similar engagement signals through Firebase Analytics (Google).
f) Purchases and subscriptions
- Subscription status and receipts via RevenueCat and Apple/Google purchase flows (mobile app) or Stripe (website) so we can unlock premium features you paid for.
g) Photos (optional, mobile app only)
- If you attach an image to a mood journal entry, we access only the photo you select from your library (with your permission).
h) Coarse region
- Our analytics SDKs may derive an approximate region from IP address (not precise GPS from the device) as part of standard requests. If we enable third-party advertising in the app, similar network signals may apply as described in App Store privacy labels.
i) Cookies (website only)
- Essential cookies for authentication and session management.
- Analytics cookies to understand usage patterns.
- We do not use advertising cookies.
We do not:
- Sell your personal data.
- Use precise GPS location from the device.
- Read your contacts.
- Access photos except when you explicitly choose an attachment for a supported feature.
- Collect HealthKit, medical device, or clinical health data.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and personalize your mind training and self-growth experience
- To generate personalized cognitive reports (website)
- To sync your progress across devices (mobile app)
- To calculate and display your cognitive performance trends
- To process payments and manage your subscription
- To send streak reminders and re-engagement notifications (with your permission)
- To communicate your report via email and send account-related messages
- To improve service quality and fix bugs
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers using industry-standard encryption. All connections are encrypted via HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Game progress is synced to our servers when online and stored locally for offline use. Authentication tokens are stored in your device’s secure keychain/keystore (mobile app) or secure session cookies (website).
4. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell your personal data. We may share anonymized, aggregated usage statistics for research purposes. We use third-party services for:
- Payment processing (Stripe on web; Apple/Google on mobile)
- Subscription management (RevenueCat on mobile)
- Analytics (anonymized usage patterns)
- Crash reporting (technical error data only, mobile app)
- Email delivery (transactional emails)
- Push notifications (device tokens only, mobile app)
5. Your Rights
You can:
- View much of your stored data in the Profile section (mobile app).
- Export your game history (mobile app, Profile section).
- Delete your account and all associated data at any time. In the mobile app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This requests deletion on our servers, removes your Firebase sign-in, clears on-device app data, and signs you out of subscription restoration where applicable. You may also request deletion by contacting us.
- Request access to, correction of, or export of your personal data by contacting us at the email below.
- Limit ad-related tracking using iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (and your Apple ID advertising settings). We do not show a separate in-app analytics off switch today; analytics supports app improvement and stability as described above.
- Disable push notifications in system Settings or the app’s notification preference when offered.
6. Children’s Privacy
Spark is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
